Before reaching the international stage, participating students put their skills to the test in national competitions held across Bulgaria, Greece, Italy, Spain, and Sweden<\/sup>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

These national events brought together dedicated teams of four students, supported by their teachers and tutors, to solve real-world industrial scenarios. Drawing directly from their training on the Digital Twin on Smart Manufacturing e-learning platform, participants proved their ability to analyse complex systems, collaborate under pressure, and propose practical solutions for cleaner, more efficient production.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The national contests did more than select finalists; they highlighted the growing demand for the “Digital Twin technician” profile\u2014a versatile professional skilled in bridging the gap between hardware engineering and digital software<\/sup>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Ultimate Challenge in Alba<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

From 6 to 9 October 2026<\/strong>, the winning national teams will gather physically at APRO Formazione<\/strong> in Alba, Italy, to compete in the international final<\/sup>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Over two days of intensive teamwork, the finalists will tackle a comprehensive, multi-faceted case study designed to reflect the real operational challenges faced by modern smart factories. Working side-by-side in a professional environment, teams will be evaluated by an international joint committee of educational partners and industry experts on:<\/p>\n\n\n\n
