We’re excited to share that Annalisa Rizzo and Stefano Antona, coordinators of the Digital Twin project for Apro Formazione, recently took part in the Study Visit organized by Innotecs in The Hague, Netherlands, on April 7–8, 2025.
The event brought together around 60 participants from vocational schools across Europe for two days of exchange, inspiration, and innovation in the field of technical and vocational education. Within this vibrant international setting, Rizzo and Antona presented the main results of the Digital Twin project, generating strong interest and engagement among educators and stakeholders.
What is Innotecs?
Innotecs (International Network of Technical Schools – innotecs.eu) is a European network that connects technical and vocational education institutions from across the continent. Its mission is to foster cooperation, knowledge sharing, and innovation among VET providers in order to better prepare students for the evolving demands of the labour market.
The network promotes internationalization, organizes study visits and joint projects, and supports the integration of emerging technologies and methodologies in vocational training. The Study Visit in The Hague is one of the flagship activities where members can meet, exchange experiences, and build cross-border collaboration.
Presentation Highlights in The Hague
During the Study Visit, Annalisa Rizzo and Stefano Antona shared the project’s key outputs, including:
- the creation of a training platform focused on digital twins and industrial simulation,
- learning modules tested with students and teachers across multiple partner countries,
- strong collaboration with companies in designing industry-relevant learning paths,
- and most importantly, the upcoming international pilot programs and Digital Twin Skill Competitions.
The audience, composed of VET experts, educators, and school managers, responded with great enthusiasm. The presentation sparked rich conversations, new ideas, and potential partnerships to bring digital twin technology into the classroom across Europe.
Join the Pilots and the Digital Twin Skill Competitions
A central point of the presentation was the invitation to join the upcoming pilot activities, which will be launched in the next months. These will give both students and teachers the opportunity to engage with industrial simulation environments through guided learning paths, practical challenges, and collaborative sessions.
In addition, the team announced the Digital Twin Skill Competitions, a European contest designed to recognize and enhance students’ skills in digital twin industrial technologies. It will be a unique opportunity for young learners to challenge themselves, learn from peers, and gain visibility at the European level.
