Project Insights
Addressing Industry and Education Synergy

The Digital Twin project tackles the challenge of aligning educational outcomes with industry requirements, focusing on the manufacturing sector’s shift towards digital twin technologies. Partners across five EU countries collaborate to address systemic issues hindering the sector, like the gap between educational systems and industry expectations, and the need for more specialized training in digital twin applications.
“We want to create a modern technician’s profile, capable of exploiting technologies such as digital twin, AI, robotics and cybersecurity to drive innovation and address crucial issues in an economically viable way”
Therefore, the project will facilitate the twin transition (digital and green) of companies, while contributing to the development of an attractive training offer to be integrated in VET, H/VET and HE.

project Objectives
Enhancing Education & Industry Through Digital Twin Innovation
The Digital Twin project’s main goal is to improve the ability of EDU-VET providers to meet companies’ requests. Our main approach in fulfilling this goal is to intertwine face-to-face, digital, and work-based environments for a comprehensive educational experience. We also aim at:
Business performance
Improve companies’ performance in commissioning, production and maintenance.
A modern training offer
Improve ability of EDU-VET providers to adapt training to industry needs.
Innovation
Increased innovation and visibility of the European Education and Training ecosystem.
Productivity
Increased productivity of the enterprises deploying Digital Twin solutions.
Competitiveness

Expected results
Empowering the Future with Digital Twin Technologies
The Digital Twin project aims to enhance the alignment between educational systems and industry needs, significantly reducing the identified skills gaps. We are going to achieve these ambitious goals by producing the following key products.
Expected Outcomes:
Digital Twin Skills Index
It will detail the most relevant competences a technician in the Digital Twin sector will need for future employment.
Self-Evaluation Tool
It will recognize prior learning and customize training, upskilling and reskilling, based on individual needs.
Training course
A 450-hour e-learning course made up of IVET & CVET training modules and micro-credentials covering relevant hard and soft skills and available in 6 languages.
Digital Twin Training Methodology
Featuring a Trainer’s Manual to transfer the results to VET, HVET, HE organizations and companies involved in reskilling/upskilling of workforce.
Digital Twin Labs
Dedicated spaces to allow practicing the Digital Twin e-learning course in real work scenarios.
Skills competitions
A series of national and international events to address industry challenges and to put in practice competences acquired via the Digital Twin course.
A Digital Twin occupational profile
Based on ESCO classification and a higher level of skills and subjects outside the scope of traditional VET.
