Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Extended Reality (XR) are transforming how we interact with technology and the world around us. AI, with its ability to analyze data, recognize patterns, and make decisions, enhances the capabilities of XR, which includes Virtual Reality (VR), Augmented Reality (AR), and Mixed Reality (MR). Together, they create immersive, interactive experiences across various sectors, from gaming and entertainment to healthcare and education.
In our project, we aim to describe how AI-driven XR applications can be employed to achieve cutting-edge solutions by simulating realistic environments. By leveraging these technologies, we will show how to provide personalized learning experiences and revolutionize training and maintenance through the so-called “Augmented Humans” approach. According to this paradigm, technology is at the service of the individual and allows for improving task performance through tailored, human-centred, feedback.
This synergy, fostered by the technological development of tailored devices such as the increasingly user-friendly Head-Mounted Displays (HMDs), is paving the way for innovative solutions and a more interconnected future. By leveraging these technologies, we can address environmental challenges, promote efficient resource use, and create more sustainable practices.
