Turkish Delegation Explores Digital Twin Best Practices with APRO Formazione

On June 25th, 2025, APRO Formazione had the honour of welcoming a high-level delegation from the Directorate General of Vocational and Technical Education, Ministry of National Education of Turkey, for a focused event on Digital Twin systems in smart manufacturing.

International Exchange in Digital Education

The Turkish delegation – comprising Mr. Ercan Alpay (Head of the Department for the Development of Educational Environments and Learning Processes), Mr. Özdemir Tiflis (National Education Expert), and two teachers—visited Italy to learn about best practices in teaching and implementing Digital Twin technologies. The event was organized within the framework of the Erasmus+ project “Digital Twin on Smart Manufacturing” (Project No. 101140156).

Agenda Highlights

The half-day agenda included:

  • A tour of APRO’s state-of-the-art laboratories, where guests saw first-hand how Digital Twin systems are used in technical education.
  • Expert presentations from Luca Ulrich (Polytechnic University of Turin) on teaching Digital Twin technology, and Marco Bellini (B&B Automation) on its industrial automation applications.
  • A project presentation outlining the objectives and impact of the Digital Twin on Smart Manufacturing project.

Networking & Future Collaboration

The session concluded with presentations on the activities of APRO Formazione and the Turkish Directorate General, followed by an open discussion. Both sides shared experiences, best practices, and explored future opportunities for collaboration in technological vocational training.

A Model for Transnational Exchange

The event reinforced the value of international partnerships in advancing digital education. Insights from project partners and the Turkish delegation are expected to shape further joint initiatives and promote the exchange of innovative teaching methodologies.
